That was a nice blizzard, but it does not beat the Blizzard of 1978 for the long Island area.

The December 2009 storm was much, much better in Suffolk County than the December 2010 storm...the 1/11/2011 storm was probably the second best of the 7 KU storms that hit the area between March 2009 and January 2011.

You had the same thing, according to Alex. I was on the phone with him at the height of the storm, it was 4-5 inches an hour, easy.

I had 18.5 total. Alex had the same thing. There must have been a communication issue between the two of you lol. No wonder the relationship never lasted :scooter:

morning and night? not possible. In the am, you should have seen at least 4, and at night. 15 easy.

I saw 4 and then 14.5 so there's the 18.5 total. The morning might have been 5 right after it fell but I didn't have a chance to measure it until late that afternoon. It probably compacted/melted some.

yes, it was very wet, so it compacted quickly.

I saw heavier snow than you at night, the radar shows it. That's the extra I got that you didn't, but you did better during 12/27 IIRC.

18Z GFS has a huge noreaster for halloween and gives central PA up to central NY 3+ feet of heavy wet snow.

We get a little over running and maybe something on the very backside. Nice track into Delmarva out to eastern tip of LI but no real cold air or block and way too early in the season.

yeah, talk about weather porn. Big stall 980mb low..haha. GFS has been honking for something down that timeframe, but obviously, being 250+hrs out, its pure fantasy at this point and time.

Fun to look at though..

If it was December, January, or February, that would give anyone west of the east end of long island 20+ inches!!
