Boch23
Craziness...still nothing here. Yeah must suck on missing out on toranadoes widespread flooding and damagaing winds. Most of the Irene TV coverage has been borderline embarrassing, but Glenn Schwartz has been simply fabulous... I agree its the only reason I have been watching nbc10 all day. Voyager
Yeah, I am...IDK why it is pouring so close and yet here we are totally quiet. Looks like there might be a pretty good band inbound to your location from the southeast in about a half to one hour or so.

Tiburon
Glenn has been the voice of reason in this embarrassment of news coverage. Just heard him talk about the multitude of warnings being issued and is truly educating the public to not buy into the hype machine being churned out. There's a lot of misinformation out there tonight. Thanks to Glenn, NBC10 viewers aren't seeing as much of it.

Voyager
These tornado warnings are creeping steadily northward. Not cool! I was thinking the same thing. Do you, as a met, think that the tornado threat could reach as far inland as Schuylkill County or do you think it'll be more confined to the far eastern counties in PA? chrisNJ
Was just thinking the same things and as we get the biggest gusts of the night...I will try to stay up as late as possible. SouthernNJ
I would have to imagine, with Mt. Holly's track record of never issuing too many TORs, that the situation must be unique. I usually can look at the radars at the website to see if everything is legit...but these tropical showers cannot be spotted on the NEXRAD velocities for the most part. I am guessing that most of the warnings for the high population areas are via the Terminal Doppler as they are made for quick detection of violent changes in winds. I would NOT want to be a Warning Forecaster on such a night.

I won't pretend to be authoritative on this, but I'm sure it's possible. That said, the likelihood would decrease as you go inland, I'm sure. Lots of factors in your favor - distance from the right-front quadrant of the storm, terrain, etc.
njrealtor84
I have been in 2 tornado warnings in the past 90 minutes. They both came within 30 mins of each other. NEVER expected that. I am in NW Gloucester Co in NJ. In Westville, between Woodbury and Gloucester City. Heavy rain for several hours now and very strong winds. Fortunately, still have power..... knock on wood. Great I'm in the middle of a TW..
