Wonderdog
Our storm has shifted somewhat to the south and east from the 0z run. This trend if it were to continue would make our weather interesting, I would think.

kurtstack
As I see it right now: 5% chance that DC sees all snow. 25% DC gets a little frozen precip followed by rain 70% DC gets all rain There is a glimmer of hope, but it's running out of time. Dr No
Get your row boats ready. http://raleighwx.ame...6_county138.gif 6Z GFS is a blizzard for you. The 700 MB LP moves just to your SE.
clskinsfan
6Z GFS is a blizzard for you. The 700 MB LP moves just to your SE. Sorry for posting the wrong map. 6Z looks much better. Now I wanna see the 12z Euro. Actually this 500 map is very nice. http://raleighwx.americanwx.com/models/gfs/06zgfs500mbHGHTPMSLtropical132.gif
VA Mad Man
So DC "Proper" is roughly 50-75 miles away from a good snow? All snow? 6Z GFS is a blizzard for you. The 700 MB LP moves just to your SE.
kurtstack
So DC "Proper" is roughly 50-75 miles away from a good snow? All snow? I'd say a 150 mile to 200 mile SE shift would be needed for a shot at all snow, but we aren't far off.
clskinsfan
Yeah 100 miles would make everyone happy on the east coast. Really a major change from the 0z.
aldie 22
Yeah 100 miles would make everyone happy on the east coast. Really a major change from the 0z. I think yesterdays 6z GFS did the same thing but 12/18/0z all went back to the all rain scenario for all. I would like to see at least a couple of runs in a row showing some frozen for you guys. Hopefully 12z shows it for you.
FrederickWX
This pattern bites. Windy, cold and dry, followed by a storm tracking west of us with rain, followed by more bitter cold, wind and dry. I'm starting to wonder if DC will see any significant snow at all in December, even with the incredible cold. It's a shame, because any snow that falls would stick around a while. Yeoman
If any model run doesn't deserve it's own thread it's the 6z GFS
FrederickWX
If any model run doesn't deserve it's own thread it's the 6z GFS Yep. It's only got it's own thread because people are desperate for any type of hope that there may be snow in the near future.

Analog96
(1) wrong subforum for PA conversation and (2) it's rain for you and everyone in this subform save those way way way west. How is the PA/MD border not the Mid-Atlantic all of a sudden? On #2, I agree.
TUweathermanDD
Can i see the model verification page for each run of the GFS? I have the other models and overall GFS, but not each comparitive run.

It is more likely this tracks so far west we get little or no rain, which would be nice. If you're anywhere east of Toledo and think you're getting snow of any consequence you are delusional. Master of Disaster
there are 2 forums for PA already. this has always been MD/VA/DC/WV. please don't come in here and troll our subforum. Contribute to the discussion or be gone troll!! Anyway, starting as snow for areas before changeover to rain and then back to snow. Since I am pretty sure weather doesnt give a crap about a border, Frederick and Washington Cos will probably get in on a lot of that.
