yeah...their outage map not loading. but text version currenly listing 522k without power. but ryan mentioned it was over 600k not long ago.

600k probably included United, but I get a server error now when I try to load their site. Ther were over 80k last time I was able to load it.

Lucky here in Marion with power still on - Southington one of the few towns in the state with 90% customers with power. 3.78" rain for the storm. No real impressive sustained winds, but have had some 50 MPH gusts in the past 3 hours - some large limbs down on my street. Baro 977.0 mb and still dropping.

CL&P outages up to 522k (42%).

last night when i saw the flood forecast for the westfield river i couldnt believe they didnt have it atleast at flood stage!!! we have had half this rain and it has flooded most rivers are above there forecast points of where they should be right now!! Streams around here are out of there banks and all that has to go somewhere.. Im thinking the connecticut river is in for some serious flooding the next couple of days once all the smaller rivers empty into it.. wind died down for a bit and starting to kick back up. im on a 5 post a day limit for some reason so this will be my last post for a bit ill let you know how evreything around here goes

Significant flooding is ongoing in Berkshire County - Route 8 in Becket, Route 20 in Chester are both flooded

1020 AM EDT SUN AUG 28 2011

.SYNOPSIS...

IRENE HAS BEEN DOWNGRADED TO A TROPICAL STORM...CONTINUE NORTH-

NORTHEASTWARD INTO INTERIOR NEW ENGLAND INTO THIS EVENING. IRENE

WILL BRING A COMBINATION OF FLOODING RAINS...DAMAGING WINDS AND

COASTAL FLOODING. HIGH PRESSURE WILL SETTLE OVER THE AREA MONDAY

BRINGING DRY AND COMFORTABLE WEATHER THROUGH MOST OF THE WORK

WEEK.

&&

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...

-- Changed Discussion --10 AM UPDATE...

IRENE HAS BEEN DOWNGRADED TO A TROPICAL STORM. AS OF 9 AM IRENE

WAS CENTERED OVER MANHATTAN MOVING NORTH-NORTHEASTWARD AROUND 20

MPH...CONTINUING INTO INTERIOR NEW ENGLAND THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE

EVENING DURING WHICH TIME IT WILL BE DEGRADE FURTHER. FCST HAS

BEEN UPDATED IN THE NEAR TERM TO ACCOUNT FOR TRENDS.

HURRICANE WARNINGS WILL CONTINUE FOR THE SOUTH NEW ENGLAND

COASTLINE UNTIL 11 AM WHERE THEN THEY WILL BE DOWNGRADED TO

TROPICAL STORM WARNINGS WITH THE NEXT HURRICANE CENTER PACKAGE.

IMPACTS OUTLINED BELOW ARE STILL ANTICIPATED WITH IRENE.

SUMMARY OF MAIN IMPACTS...

1) DAMAGING WINDS. GREATEST WIND THREAT THROUGH MIDDAY OR SO WILL BE

STRONG SQUALL LINE ACROSS EASTERN MA INTO SOUTHERN NH. OUR KBOX VAD

WIND PROFILE INDICATING 50 KT AT 1 KFT BUT PEAK WINDS AT 5 KFT WITH

85 KT! THUS SQUALLS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING HURRICANE FORCE

WIND GUSTS DOWNING TREES AND POWERLINES. THEN THE NEXT SURGE OF WIND

WILL COME ON THE BACK SIDE OF IRENE AS IT MOVES INTO NORTHERN NEW

ENGLAND LATER TODAY. AS WINDS SHIFT TO THE WNW LOW LEVEL LAPSE RATES

WILL INCREASE AND PROMOTE STRONGER WINDS ALOFT TO REACH THE SURFACE.

THEREFORE EXPECTING WNW WINDS TO GUSTS LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND

EARLY EVENING TO 50-60 MPH! THUS ANOTHER ROUND OF DOWNED TREES AND

POWERLINES ARE POSSIBLE LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING.

2) FLOODING. PLEASE REFER TO THE HYDROLOGY SECTION BELOW FOR MORE

SPECIFICS FOR AREA RIVERS AND STREAMS.

3) STORM SURGE AND COASTAL FLOODING. PLEASE SEE THE COASTAL SECTION

BELOW FOR DETAILS.

4) HIGH SURF WILL OCCUR ALONG EXPOSED RI AND SOUTHEAST MA COASTS

AND THIS WILL CAUSE EROSION. THERE IS A VERY HIGH RISK OF RIP

CURRENTS ON ALL OF THE MA AND RI COASTS THROUGH SUNDAY.

5) TORNADO WATCH HAS BEEN CANCELLED AS THE RISK FOR TORNADOES HAS

DIMINISHED.

Sorry Wiz

AS ALWAYS...PLEASE REFER TO OUR HURRICANE LOCAL STATEMENTS FOR THE

LATEST INFORMATION.-- End Changed Discussion --
