Baroclinic Zone
The area gusted gusted over 70 now. ASOS stations might not be a good representation of winds because you can have isolated pockets of much stronger wind. Besides best winds will be later. NAM still has the 200mb jet streak rolling through the area later. 90kts.
cheetah440
True....good point. She will ramp up, though....worst rain now and worst wind late pm pummeled with rain last 15min, just lost Direct RV for the first time all day.

snowNH
LOL, no reason to rope/chair here. Has delivered so far. Winds actually good here.. but we won't see the 65-70 for severe power outages. Awaiting that band...

ineedsnow
take a short drive im sure youll change your mind alot of big branches down and flooding is everywhere! Okay.... I can correct that and say the Pioneer Valley thus far. Only 5K power outages in the valley....not much has really happened except the concern about brook and small river flooding for now. snowNH
NAM still has the 200mb jet streak rolling through the area later. 90kts. Yea but will we have those heavy rain bands to help mix that down?? Judging by the radar, I'd say no.
Hambone
Feeder line looks crazy in Metrowest Boston. Anyone recording big wind as that line goes through? Cleared us about 40 minutes or so ago. Brief but really intense downdrafts and downpours. Hard to estimate winds, but the most intense all day.
DomNH
Winds actually good here.. but we won't see the 65-70 for severe power outages. Awaiting that band... Snow Bow
Holy ****. That last gust got the ol ticker racing in a rush. Wow! Couple branches went down in the neighbors yard. adamrivers
AWT Compared to CT, yes - 5K power outages, and in the valley we are seeing little more than branches down right now. The hills particularly to the west are dealing with some pretty heavy flooding. Sorry that I am not willing to overhype something that simply just isn't happening for most of us in the valley. HIPPYVALLEY
Rain coming straight down. Surprisingly wind has been a complete non-factor here so far. I'm looking at the tops of 70 - 80' white pines that are hardly moving.
ORH_wxman
True....good point. She will ramp up, though....worst rain now and worst wind late pm PYM ASOS already gusted over 50 anyway.
