DomNH
The worst is hours away....I've already gusted to 50, so I have a hard time believing that PYM has not gone higher. Same. ASH might not corroborate but I call BS on their ASOS. It got up to 50 earlier.

Baroclinic Zone
I'm out on the Cape...best winds here are not until afternoon/evening. True for a lot of E MA as well. This has been pretty fun thus far. No complaints.
HIPPYVALLEY
The Mill River is of particular concern right now. Other small streams and brooks have been flooding. Westfield, Chicopee, Connecticut Rivers all okay so far. Trouble comes tomorrow for the big rivers in Ma. and Ct. 3.75" here now. Small trickle on a basement wall but seems ok for now. Snow Bow
My parents in Hooksett are w/o power now. Nothing too bad at all here yet. Wow that's surprising already. Just had a couple fire trucks cruise by my house in Bow. Must be a downed tree somewhere not far from here. Power still on for now.
Connecticut Appleman
Connecticut Light and Power is reporting just under 500,000 at 10:15 with out power in CT. Amazingly, our power in Ellington has not even blinked.

dendrite
Same. ASH might not corroborate but I call BS on their ASOS. It got up to 50 earlier. The airports are in open fields/runways and people often overestimate the winds. MHT did hit 52mph though. It all depends on how much wind these heavy bands can mix down. CoastalWx
well not where her house is... besides, the strongest winds have been mixed down with the rain bands...no rain from PYM, past the canal out to the cape... The area gusted gusted over 70 now. ASOS stations might not be a good representation of winds because you can have isolated pockets of much stronger wind. Besides best winds will be later. Hambone
Big big drives to be had, big drives. Lot's of carry, no roll. I played golf for a week in Scotland back in May. Prestwick, Royal Troon, Turnberry, The Old Course, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns. All seaside links. 20-30 mph winds everyday, gusts to 40+. 300 yard drives down wind, 150 yards into the wind. The day we played the Old Course we had gusts that topped 50 mph.
Snow Bow
Your 200' on me could be helping here.. I haven't felt much yet still.. was expecting it when the heavier shower came through, but it was not impressive. Had one power flicker here, so far just a run of the mill rainy day. Could be the elevation. Plus im on a south east facing "hill". Little better than a run of the mill rainy day for me so far...But the day is young as of now. Few more gusts up to around 40 maybe 45 might be pushing it. But its better than any thunderstorm I've seen at home all year.
