ORH_wxman
I think it could brush it or at least have the western side move into it. If it just scrapes the coast, that will probably be fine...but we def don't want it tracking up just inland, it will lose a lot of its punch. We should have a much better idea this evening based on where the center is because this evening and overnight is when the more western models show a distinct bend back to the left. So we can track to see if its actually happening.
CoastalWx
Will be interesting to see if it does go into NJ. We may have somewhat avoided a worse situation in SNE with this thing given that it weakened a bit and also depending on track, but the windfield especially aloft doesn't like to spin down quickly. What I could see is sustained winds that aren't terribly strong, but perhaps more in the way of strong wind gusts.
SnowMan
Yup, Going to be puffing up a Rocky Patel as i get the yard secured and the generator prepped this morning........ Which Rocky Patel? I think it will scrape it, but we don't want it over the turnpike for sure

DomNH
It's easier to track the center on radar than on sat. Latest scans from Morehead City show some eastern component to the movement I think.

dendrite
3-6'' instead of 8-10''...BFD. I think an 8-10" storm is a bigger deal for NH over 50kt gusts. If this thing takes a NAM track I don't think we'll get much for wind up here away from coastal Rockingham county and the higher els.

The NAM is the last model anyone should be using or making a forecast with a tropical system. I have never once used the NAM on the basis of my LF at HVN

CoastalWx
Guys it will come down to more nowvcasting at this point. If it scrapes or goes just east of NJ then you get a good windstorm. If it goes into NJ, then yeah there will be strong winds, but likely not as bad as if it were further east. I think NYC will be interesting tomorrow morning. They really shut down everything there and evacuated hundreds of thousands. It likely is the right call, but can you imagine what people would say if nothing serious happened? ORH_wxman
Wasn't the Euro showing this or what is just east of NJ? Euro was right along the coast...just a razors edge E of the 12z NAM. Our best track would be just slightly E of this...something like the GFS/GGEM were showing.
CoastalWx
It's not going into Jersey..Nothing except the NAM shows that nonsense Even if it rakes the shore, I don't think it means much to be honest. It probably will not weaken too too much as it goes north, but the track will need to be monitored.
