Cool feature...

check out the red line of very intense rainfall south coast of NJ

Weather Channel was also wondering what that could be... they speculate it's intense convection trigger by strong winds close to center jamming against coastline and rising. Anyone see this before?

Central Park just gusted to 60 mph!

Yeah, and as you know that takes some doing, lol they had light winds when JFK was gusting to 68 mph in the Boxing Day Blizzard.

So far peak gusts have been 60 at NYC and 64 at LGA

Ok was just outside on bridge that crosses over Merrimack River. ESE winds of prob 5-10 with light rain. Also there appeared to be cloud to cloud lightning to the SSW. But may have been Cloud to Ground and just too far away to hear.

Sure it was lightning and not a power flash?

Damn, that storm was smashing for a while, I believe my peak wind gust was 57 mph, and I had only one power surge that I thought blew out my computer.

Only one hour of sleep in me, I wont sleep until this is over. Heart's been beating hard for hours.

Live coverage on NBC Connecticut was intense for awhile, especially in Old Saybrook.

Stay safe guys!

What's your location? Time of the gust too
