09-10 analogy Posted August 28, 2011 Share Posted August 28, 2011 Getting more impressed with Irene as the night goes on. Nice "sheeting effect" with the wind and heavy rain. Saw a couple of flashes from transformers blowing when I went up to Fort Reno just now. Got drenched, too. No indication in my immediate neighborhood that people have lost power; lets hope that holds. Buses still running on Wisconsin Ave; they might not have been carrying passengers, however. I was the only pedestrian fool enough to be out. Now the lights are beginning to flicker, really for the first time all night (unless they did while I was just out).
