Had my first storm casualty.. Lost a tree across our main lines from the poles.. Remarkably we still have power, even though the line is laying across the road.. Now we are responsible for shutting down our road, go us! weight_lift.gif

Now I am cold and wet. I'm thinking its almost time for a beer.

I am baffled that this place still has power.

Despite continuing radar echos overhead, I've not seen a drop of rain in Stephens City in over 3 hours. WInds gusting to 30 -35 mph, and bone dry. Saw a couple very brief showers earlier in the day. .14" total.

Dang I thought you'd get decent rain even out in the Shenandoah Desert! I'm in a good spot in northern Mont Co (Germantown) as we'll get about 2" of needed rain with none of the damage, power outages, or flooding hitting other areas. I have family in Calvert and St Marys Counties, and they are having a rough time down there.

To be quite honest - the "bangs" I have been talking about are more like rumbles that sound like somebody farting in the sky. Just being descriptive. I can't think of what it is.

transformers probably

NBC 4 radar has yellow and some orange echos out this way, but nothing is hitting the ground here in Stephens City. Radar needs recalibrating, I guess. I'm glad you got your needed rain, and hope your family in the harder hit counties make it out okay.

*edit

Finally, some rain, albeit light, is starting to fall.
