bigjohndc
I was on the roof of my apartment building (13th floor) right at Nationals ballpark. You can see power flashes both to our south east and north east.
Brianonymous
Had my first storm casualty.. Lost a tree across our main lines from the poles.. Remarkably we still have power, even though the line is laying across the road.. Now we are responsible for shutting down our road, go us! Now I am cold and wet. I'm thinking its almost time for a beer. I am baffled that this place still has power.
Kmlwx
Driving rain here - winds aren't too bad but I guess they have come up a bit. I'm impressed by the rainfall so far in this storm. Meanwhile, Flash Flood Warning extended for DC metro til 230 am.
BethesdaWX
The real deal begins now? Probably gusts of 40-45mph from the NNW paralleling the Potomac river. Sustained winds remain lower.

real
Amazing how slow this storm is just lumbering up the coast. Think of those storms, either winter or other tropical systems, that are in and out in six hours.
EastCoast NPZ
Despite continuing radar echos overhead, I've not seen a drop of rain in Stephens City in over 3 hours. WInds gusting to 30 -35 mph, and bone dry. Saw a couple very brief showers earlier in the day. .14" total.

Kmlwx
It is dumping buckets here in Colesville, MD. Still not a lot of wind...might be because I'm in a slight valley but who knows. Ground is going to be disgusting tomorrow. Wear bad shoes.

I'm in a good spot in northern Mont Co (Germantown) as we'll get about 2" of needed rain with none of the damage, power outages, or flooding hitting other areas. I have family in Calvert and St Marys Counties, and they are having a rough time down there.

Kmlwx
To be quite honest - the "bangs" I have been talking about are more like rumbles that sound like somebody farting in the sky. Just being descriptive. I can't think of what it is.

CheesyPoofs
Wind has definitely picked up in Western Howard County over the past hour. Power has flickered a few times, but still have yet to lose it. Outages in HoCo jumped rather quickly from the 300's to over 2,500.

NBC 4 radar has yellow and some orange echos out this way, but nothing is hitting the ground here in Stephens City. Radar needs recalibrating, I guess. I'm glad you got your needed rain, and hope your family in the harder hit counties make it out okay. *edit Finally, some rain, albeit light, is starting to fall.
