I'm by where tornado went by in Queens on Francis Lewis blvd and 73rd ave.

Dozens of trees down. Scattered everywhere like they're twigs.

Reminds me of the bayside/flushing scene of last September.

Snapping pics.

Have driven a lot of Queens. This is the hardest hit area I've seen so far.

Then the damage was really localized. Looking forward to seeing those pics though and I might take a drive around that area to see what you are talking about.

Loved watching the deaf interpreter at the FEMA press conference. His expressions perfectly captured caricatures of, fear, sympathy, relief and concern. The practiced phoniness only highlights the ridiculousness of the public official doing the briefing.

Sorry to say, but it is just not true. I'm at Main st. and 73rd Ave and there is barely any damage. It's quite boring here to be honest, and I'm annoyed everything is closed when I could have been taking care of some errands.

I said scattered around. Not on every street.

Drive around and you will see.

This storm was clearly much more serious for folks living within 5 miles of the ocean or near a river, stream, creek etc where flooding was likely. My parents in Colts Neck say they never lost power, only a few small branches down in the backyard. 6.45" of rain total there. Meanwhile a friend in Middletown has been out of power since last night and 4 large trees fell on his street.

Out here in Villanova PA, we had some wind gusts to 40mph, but it pretty much felt like a strong nor'easter. No damage to speak of except one tree fell on a power line South campus

467,000 people are without power on long island...many places of which are more than 5 miles from the ocean...and cell service was knocked out here...

My town is pretty bad. Much worse than 2010.

Not here. While we didn't lose power more than momentarily in 2010 we lost cable for about a week. Rye Brook basically looked like a war zone. Street after street was blocked. Power and telephone lines were down; sparks were flying everywhere.

Here, a bunch of small branches, and lots of leaves, are down. That's it.

Very windy again...no power since 1230 am...trees down on every street

Significant damage in Millburn. I would say 70% or so of downtown businesses have moderate damage or more with 20-30% almost complete losses due to severe flooding. Some apartment buildings flooded out, with scattered debris everywhere and some uplifting of pavement due to flooding. Entire town was wondering around downtown...worst flooding/damage in at least 50 years....a shame. Going to take some time for all businesses to recover from this one.

Yeah, March 2010 was worse for wind impact; power was out in by block from March 13 to March 16th (Sat-Tuesday)

But, this has more rain and much more flooding...
