Manny
Sustained winds here were strong for awhile, but nonetheless, up here has been crazy.
A-L-E-X
The calm will last while then watch out for 65+MPH NW winds.I will be very shocked if it does not happen. The calm isn't here yet lol. We could have more power outages and trees coming down later.
SnowGoose69
Looks like center is close to Sandy Hook and headed north and will pass near Staten Island. Euro nailed this track for days. KMJX is now 020, KNEL's 1100Z ob is not in yet but my guess it they will be around as well...KBLM is still 010 so its sitting just south of them right now in southern Monmouth somewhere it seems. CAT5ANDREW
65mph seems excessive? Not really as we usually are as strong or stronger in the backlash in these tropical systems.
A-L-E-X
How would you rate irene Alex? She is equal to Belle in my book. I'm putting it ahead of every other tropical system because of the heavy rain, thunderstorms, tornadoes and the appeal of having an eye come right at you lol. I dont remember Belle at all

NickD2011
Not really as we usually are as strong or stronger in the backlash in these tropical systems. We probably won't have winds as bad as DC and Richmond since the pressure is increasing. It'll be closer to what Norfolk had, 20-30 with gusts to around 40-45. I'm surprised my power is still on now and PSE&G isn't reporting that many outages in Burlington county, NJ. Having underground power lines in my neighborhood must have helped, but outside my neighborhood the power lines are going right through foliage. NickD2011
One thing I'm concerned about is that if they forecasted 100 mph winds at the shore but the max gusts were 50-60 and the surge didn't flood anything but the beach itself, people might not leave next time.
