phil882
Just a little caveat... the NHC themselves said that this wind field is unrealistic, since there are only "spots" of hurricane force winds occurring in that inner circle of hurricane force winds. Its just the radius stretches out so far.

Chicago Storm
OK Amy Freeze is a total moron.... she called "spaghetti plot" "spaghetti plate"! Before that she said lots of isobars packed close together on a map was "meteorology language" for a very quick moving storm and that we would clear quickly tomorrow. She stuttered on "meteorology" like three times. Before that she had said that we could get hail tonight =\ She also said that the tornado warning was until 4:15 PM and the anchors had to correct her. Before that they had to point out the tornado warnings in NJ because she couldn't read her own map and said there were no tornado warnings currently. They said, "What are those red areas on your map, Amy?" She said, "Oh, I missed that, I wasn't looking there." Anyone from Chicago could have told you that she isn't too bright. nzucker
Just took a drive down to the Hudson River here in Dobbs Ferry, NY. I'd estimate we've received 2-3" rainfall here in Westchester County (HPN has 2.86" and received 0.81" in the last hour), but the roadways are handling it fairly well. There's little evident street flooding, only a few branches down, and power is holding out across town. Winds are probably gusting a little over 40mph in the most intense banding, although overall the wind has not been that impressive. There wasn't a marked difference between winds here at 350' and down by the river closed to sea level. +RA 73.3/73 2.86" rainfall(HPN)
