Dosh
Incredible. We are still hours away from the best winds. keep in mind the current band we're in is anomalous to the rest of the storm. We should have pretty light winds once it passes in an hour or so. But when the little tightly wound bands come in about 3-5 hours it should ramp up to much more than weve been seeing

Sock Puppet
You can view the radar here : http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/ Why the f does KDIX have to go down during the biggest event of the year?
SnowGoose69
You need to keep in mind the current band we're in is anomalous to the rest of the storm. We should have pretty light winds once it passes in an hour or so. The C-NJ obs show there may very well be a lull when this band clears through, much less mixing of the winds to the surface. IsentropicLift
They were just showing on TWC how the sea level is already well above normal, even though its low tide at the battery, too bad this graph is not as detailed as the one they showed
Euripides
The C-NJ obs show there may very well be a lull when this band clears through, much less mixing of the winds to the surface. Then the trees and branches really start coming down and knocking power out. Tree roots have to be loose with all the recent heavy rains plus today. Elevation and small changes in it can make big differences in storms. You could be a subtle valley. I used to live in a house where we were in a dip relative to nearby areas and you could always tell because early mornings sometimes we'd have cars covered in frost and a mile away none of the cars would have frost on them.....in a storm like this that can result in fewer trees toppling and less outages.
