Just came back from a ride, checked out all the local canals, they seem to be ok for now... My Aunt Marguerite livves on Hyman in Bay Shore South of the Gertz on Sunrise Highway. real Posted August 28, 2011 Share Posted August 28, 2011 Winds in DC, which is 100 miles from the coast, have been breezy all day/with heavier than expected rain all day. Winds just started to really crank up 10 p.m. till now, and not sure how long will last. Damage seems to include trees and wires and i'm actually a bit impressed since it wasn't even clear till last night we would get at least 2 inches of rain. Anyway, it's coming as predicted for you all -- assuming it can keep itself together . I'm currently not in my home which is close to the Throgs Neck, I'm at my sister in law's which is about a mile or so farther south.
