You still expecting a weak tropical storm here..35-45 mph..wow..is this for the whole area?

Places who get near the center will see a period of winds sustained stronger than that, locations such as eastern LI and W NJ which could be a decent distance from the center I don't know what to expect as far as winds. I'd say W NJ would be NE 30 G45 while eastern LI would be S-SE 35 G50 on average, its hard to say because we have no idea whats going on with winds 60 miles east of that center right now.

972/976 ish

euro is better keeps it over water and stronger

NAM and SREFS probably too far west, would not go against the euro.

It'll just have to be nowcasted at this point. Right now the center is moving slightly east of due north it appears, if you drew a trajectory right now it would take it close to that Euro track it seems.

Upton new hurricane warning say 76%chance of tropical storm conditions and 10 of hurricane but they are saying under it that winds will gust to hurricane force at 85mph, what's it mean sorta makes no sense? Saying 10% then hurricane force under it

When the NHC says "hurricane force" they are talking about "sustained winds >74 mph."

What about Middlesex County, NJ I live in the eastern part of it.

KRIC reported gusts to 55 mph, not particularly close to the center. Now 35 mph gusting to 49 mph.

Although hurricane force winds may only occur in gusts for much of the NYC Metro, I think extended periods of gale winds, the rain and the trees taking out powerlines will make the people calling "hype" look a little foolish. And what the coastal flooding is like, that may or may not live up to billing.
