donsutherland1
Courtesy of some of the feeder bands, as of 2 pm, New York City had received 0.39" rainfall. That brings the monthly figure to 12.47", eclipsing the August record of 12.36" previously established in 1990. The all-time monthly record is 16.85", set way back in September 1882. A-L-E-X
LOL Doug, it looks like it shifted a tick west, goes over Toms River and then over Breeze Point! 968 mb? I saw 964 mb mentioned also.

A-L-E-X
Even with a western li landfall wouldn't the entire metro area see hurricane winds 90 miles out they extend That looks more like a Toms River-Southern Queens landfall.
jm1220
Omg. I want this to verify. I boxed the 21 hour, 27 hour, and 30 hour plots. You can clearly see where it is at 24 hours: Wow. Pretty much every model has us in the right front quadrant here right at or just after high tide. This surge may be worse than Gloria if that pans out. Manny
euro snap shot Oh man that track is nothing to laugh at, that's plenty of rain on the west side, plus strong surges into the ny harbor.

pazzo83
So this track keeps it over water as long as possible and then slams it into eastern Queens/western Nassau? Sounds like about the worst possible scenario.

CAT5ANDREW
The heaviest rains are going to stay west of NYC.I believe we get 3 inches here max.Poconos and Catskills are going to have some big time flooding. This is going to be more about the winds and storm surge than the rainfall, which is a big change from previous Tropical systems. Yes, but with the large size of the storm and its slow movement we should all get at least 5 inches. Those areas to the west will be getting 10-12 inches.
