algreeks pics are excellent.THe trees are blocking the Northbound lanes of Francis Lewis Blvd.Just to the South is Union Tpke where I thankfully had a red light delay my left hand turn which prevented me from possible having the trees fall on top of my car.A great reason actually to Not stormchase during the height of a storm like this.

Thanks. If you go to that area, take a walk in the actual park and you will see several trees scattered in all different directions;

The block next to mine in Fresh Meadows:

When is the NWS going to look into the possibility of tornadoes around the area?

Doesn't look like a tornado, that damage is repeated all throughout the city and LI. Notice how the tree was not snapped, just fell over in the loose soil due to the heavy rain.

I was awaiting expert analysis.Thanks

Inside the actual park there are several trees snapped and thrown around in all different directions.

After surveying the macroburst and the 2 separate tornadoes in Queens last September, Im confident that it was a very small EF0 tornado that hit that area of Fresh Meadows.

I agree with you.As soon as it hit my car I knew that had to be a weak tornado.I have never felt anything like that before and the major damage is isolated and in one concentrated area.

It was coming from my south..which is where algreek took the photos, and where you were driving.I think it might have dissipated once it reached my neck of the woods..but it sure as hell looked like a Tornado outside. It looked just like last September.

I've created a photo set here. Some photos were used from the ones posted here (public forum). If you don't want your photo in this photo set, let me know. If you want it put up there for archiving, also let me know. Enjoy!

Sorry for the long delay, guys. My power was just restored at around 5PM. Basically, the surge came in at around 8:15-8:30, and my block near the bay began to flood pretty severely-close to 3 feet or so of water near the end of the block. Luckily for me, the water began to retreat and was basically gone from my block at around 11AM. Then, I went out and snapped these. As you can see, surge effects were pretty intense near Broadway (road nearest the beach), mud/foam/sand was littered everywhere. There was also quite a bit of tree damage and siding blown off a building near my house. All in all, the wind was pretty good but nowhere near hurricane force (I would estimate we had some 65mph gusts), and the water was certainly a big impact. It just about all came at once and flooded through town. As you can see, quite a bit of flooding persisted several hours after the surge left and tide receded near the beach.

I lived in Denville until I was 21. At the beginning, it's about 1/2 mile from Rt. 46 and Burger King. That's not too bad. I've seen it like that in Floyd. Towards the end of the video it starts to get near downtown. That part is just amazing. It's rare for downtown Denville to flood like that.

Tornado confirmed in Cunningham park. Told you.

I saw what Tornadic damage looks like from what I saw after last Septemer's historic event and I was 99% sure that Fresh Meadows was hit with an EF0 tornado.

Just got my internet back. Here are some pictures from New Brunswick, NJ. These are all from Route 18, the main artery in/out of NB. Caused huge problems for days and we only opened very late last night. The gauge at Bound Brook went out so I don't know of the final crest but it was making a final run at Floyd's record... at the very least it is definitely the second highest on record.
