Ellinwood Posted August 26, 2011 Share Posted August 26, 2011 I didn't want to impede on Josh's chase thread any more than I already have, so I decided to start a new thread for myself and anyone else who is chasing Irene to post any of their information and/or media. I am with Jason Foster (weatherwarrior) and we're heading south from DC to the Morehead City, NC area. Just got on the road 15 minutes ago... expecting to get there around 6:00. We will have a live stream up once we get there. The link for that is http://www.weatherwarrior.net/TV.html I will try to update on here, but I'll be doing updates on my twitter account and on my Facebook page and blog. Ellinwood Posted August 26, 2011 Author Share Posted August 26, 2011 Sounds like we'll stay with Morehead City for now... booked a hotel in Havelock (about 15 mi. from the coast... only $90 after tax! Start of the stream was okay... a bit later in found a beach front but waves were a bit too far away for good viewing. I would imagine it wasn't the most exciting thing. not as boring anymore...they had a run in with the popo Jason forgot to turn his headlights back on Cop was nice. Will they even let you drive onto the outer banks? Maybe, maybe not. Storm's coming pretty quick, now... OBX pretty much out of the picture unless something drastically changes. I went to Island Park, NY (which is actually where Josh was), which is just north of Long Beach, and got this footage pretty close to when the eastern "eye-wall" was passing over.
