dan11295
Irene does appear to be a tad east of the forecast so far, if anything. Gotta see if a wobble back on course occurs.
Cloudsncontrails
I bet it would be crazy to be in one of those NYC skyscrapers this weekend. It's going to be very interesting to see how these buildings hold up.

40/70 Benchmark
are you checking the latest pics.. looking better and better, new convection firing up.. Big deal...it's a major hurricane and unless it's dying, which it isn't, it's going to have deep convective pulses. The eye remains relatively disorganized. adamrivers
Seems like folks are taking this seriously, at least here in Connecticut - many reports that grocery stores and Walmart are out of essential supplies - on Thursday. Wow.

OSUmetstud
West from 18z i think you mean a little east, right? Sorry, for some reason, Allan's map went blank again after it had the tracks there.
40/70 Benchmark
OSU said the eye looked good about two pages ago.... I'm speaking of IR.....of course it will look good on microwave imagery, unless it's either decaying or undergoing an ERC, neither of which are the case. Cloudsncontrails
TWC just showed their spaghetti string and it looks like the models have shifted back east again with 5 models slicing through central LI and CT. Out of those 5, 3 keep it offshore all the way after NC
yoda
It went slightly east... there were 3 over DC on the 18z and now they are gone... most are over OC/just east of there, though a few are further out some

I have a copy if it doesn't stay loaded here, it's def east of the 18z by a good amount. Pretty sizeable change "on the whole" and it starts pretty early. snowman21
Still tracking W of N at a 335 heading. When is this northerly turn supposed to happen? I see NHC official track turns it N then NNE by midday tomorrow. This thing is closing in on the longitude of the NC/SC border now.

MarkO
Last I checked she looked healtheir than earlier. How much strengthing will prolly be limited by the drier/shear (I'm no expert) to the northwest. But good outflow, SST's, forward motion and most importantly, end of the eyewall replacement leads me to believe she has a potential for cat 4 by AM, but I'd stick with strong Cat

We turned off the image hotlinking to try to lessen the stress on our side when places like WU blogs decide to use his images and they get many refreshes. I'd either directly upload it or just paste the image URL link.http://raleighwx.americanwx.com/models/atcf/00zatcfearlyinvest2best.gif
