weatherwiz
i really don't understand how this map makes sense For some reason it's showing the 8 AM map and not the 11 AM map.
Ginx snewx
I would certainly love to experience something like that. Thank god for car chargers for the phone and IPAD, hopefully cell towers work fine.
Baroclinic Zone
Also looks like the Atl ridging and northern trough are deeper.
snowNH
Can we just some model consistency?? I have a feeling now we are going to want a trend west by 12z tomorrow lol
free_man
gfs already almost 6 hours faster than 00z!
Clinch Leatherwood
2nd trough even further north/weaker on this run of the GFS....hmm after 48?
weatherwiz
Thank god for car chargers for the phone and IPAD, hopefully cell towers work fine. Luckily my brother has a blackberry he has for work so I can check in online that way if need be. He has an IPAD as well from work that I could use as well. MJOatleast7
I like west Pac names better, Nanmadol, Talas just sound ferocious. Irene sounds like your Aunts name or the girl who never gets married and ends up living with her sister. Or Bugsy Moran's romantic interest in The Perfect Storm. Clinch Leatherwood
Also looks like the Atl ridging and northern trough are deeper. I'm looking at crude maps but the trough looks weaker, HP to the east stronger on raleighwx. Some of it may be timing differences...but I actually think it may be further west as we go along here vs the 6z
OKpowdah
GFS just looks faster/north. I don't see much eastward change
yoda
Landfall appears to be around Cape Lookout NC on the 12z GFS though
Logan11
Well hopefully most of the people in your area are well insured for this kind of thing. I'm glad I won't be personally impacted with more than TS storm winds...that's enough for me. 2nd trough even further north/weaker on this run of the GFS....hmm after 48? Baroclinic Zone
2nd trough even further north/weaker on this run of the GFS....hmm after 48? Yup. By 54h, you can clearly see that compared to 06z at 60h.
weatherwiz
Can we just some model consistency?? I have a feeling now we are going to want a trend west by 12z tomorrow lol Why? You really don't want the eye to go over land over the Carolinas b/c it will lead to the storm weakening a bit more and you want the faster forward movement so it slows down the weakening process once it gets over the "cooler" waters. So far everything on the GFS seems to be heavily in our favor.
weatherwiz
The one thing I really love about the wunderground models is it automatically refreshes when the new hours come out.
Damage In Tolland
WTF..East/west north faster..which is it lol?
DomNH
Looks like the GFS hits OBX.
Logan11
Even if it went ridiculously west and went over my head, that means it would have to traverse the Catskills mountains and canes don't like 4 k foot peaks. The forests there would be devastated with blow downs though. Floyd was a mess on the eastern slopes. Yup. By 54h, you can clearly see that compared to 06z at 60h. Clinch Leatherwood
Yup. By 54h, you can clearly see that compared to 06z at 60h. It's further west. It's going to take a big hook to impact eastern LI or further east on this run. Models really want to nudge it west each run.
snowNH
So much for east calls

Clinch Leatherwood
WTF..East/west north faster..which is it lol? Tough to compare directly but it looks west to me of earlier runs. It's going to hit into NJ or western LI I think.
DomNH
GFS looks about identical to me for track... a bit faster. Just off Jersey short to western LI. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Doesn't look like it heads too far in to NC either on the zoomed in MSLP maps.
CoastalWx
GFS looks about identical to me for track... a bit faster. Just off Jersey short to western LI. Looked like maybe ISP into central CT? Just a lil east of 06z it seems.
