Yeah and I like a storm and weather as much as the next guy but to be openly rooting for devastation is a little extreme. I hope this thing misses everyone. I don't particularly enjoy living like a caveman for two weeks and filling out insurance claims. That's just me though.

I love testing the structural integrity of trees and buildings and power lines!

the thing is, your hopes and the hopes of those hoping for it to go in some other directon have 0.0000 effect on the storm track..

every storm some guy discovers the forums and makes the exact same post like he's the first one to point out that it's awkward to desire storms

Well that's good. Glad your house will be ok and this storm will work for you. What about the majority of us that it won't be ok for? I seriously don't get the excitement about the devastation this thing will reap upon millions of people. This storm if it makes landfall will undoubtably injure and kill people. It could ruin people financially if their insurance riders don't cover damage to their homes. Seriously I know some are excited, but just stop and think of the ramifications and havoc this thing will bring upon your neighbors, friends, family and property if this track holds.

This aint Katrina. CAT 1 hurricanes may destroy some beach homes, and may provide some river and inland flooding comparable to classic March floods, but to call this thing devastating is a lot of hyperbole.

As for me...I'm rooting for this thing to come east, and be as powerful as it can be....And I have absolutely no moral guilt in saying it. I lived through a CAT 2 hurricane in Bob. Winds gusted to 100, it uprooted a lot of impressive trees, but I certainly wouldn't call it devastating by any means.

trlBause... way to spend your 4th post

back on topic, 11am disco reflects the concerns we've had since last night about integrity of the eye wall and presence / duration of ERC:

It has been difficult to determine whether the hurricane has gonethrough an eyewall replacement. Although the radius of maximum windis larger today than yesterday...microwave and aircraft data havenot been very conclusive. Recent data do not show any evidence of asecondary eyewall at this time. The eye is a little more evident inthe last few visible satellite images...but is not as clear as itwas yesterday morning. The Air Force aircraft has measured a peakflight-level wind of 112 kt and SFMR winds of 90 kt...which roughlysupport the 100-kt initial intensity.

So after everyone cleans up the vomit around their desks..

The new track puts all of SNE in the dangerous RF quadrant...

Hasn't been much talk about TOR's but chances are we'd see a decent amount of them with that track

I lived in Central Florida for Wilma, we were far from the track but a lot of the outer bands came through tornadoes everywhere, couldn't sleep a wink that night most scared i had been for a storm in my life.
