If you loop H5, you can see how that little s/w trough to its west tries to bend it nw near HSE, but then is goes right back to almost due north afterwards. The general board dynamic is to root for as extreme weather as possible. Nobody really wants to live without power for days and fill out insurance claims, but most of are willing to grin and bear it if it means getting to witness intense storm.
