Kinda scary that an earthquake which does no damage and isn't felt by everyone in the nyc area is enough to shut down the phone grid. Hope the terrorists aren't watching.

It was due to volume ABOUT the earthquake...

I was emerging from the subway in the city and didn't feel anything, but both my brother and my dad were evacuated and sent home. I'm honestly shocked at the news coverage of this thing being that it wasn't strong enough for everyone to even feel it. My mom said her wheelchair was rocking back and forth steadily.

I know what it was due to thanks very much, fact is, if the phone lines are that clogged up for a quake not everyone felt, good luck when something really bad happens.

between 2 and 3 I would guess, But I didn't feel it I was napping lol, but I woke up right after it happened so I dont know if I woke up because I just woke up or the shaking woke me up. either way pretty neat stuff.

I think it has to be more than 3 to feel it. That thing lasted for 30-45 second depending on where you were in the area.

I felt it here in northern NJ, although it was so minor that I didn't even know it was an earthquake until later on. I actually thought it was just me having a little random episode of vertigo or something. lol

Where I was in Kearny inside a large DC, the entire building shook for 20-30 seconds. We had a first jolt and then a long shaking for around 15 seconds.

Lights were moving and items fell off tables in the room I was located. the evacuation order was given. The facilities manager called local law enforcment and was told it was an earthquke as soon as it occurred.

Felt it in Villanova PA, and my parents felt it at home in Monmouth. Was sitting on a bench at the time when suddenly it started vibrating. I initially attributed it to a truck or something, but later found out cell towers were kocked down in the area.

Seriously? I hadn't heard of any significant damage like this yet...

The news said it was between a 2 and a 3 here. lol

i worked really late last night and was sleeping at the time. It didn't wake me up but if I was up I may have felt it. Wish I was up to experience it.

You were sleeping at 1:53 in the afternoon? Damn, Dark Energy is slacking, the universe must not be expanding as quickly as it used to :P

Jeez, yeah I definitely didn't feel anything like that. I wonder if it has something to do with being up in the hills versus lower lying areas.
