weatherwiz
Decent shear? Very windy here this morning and the lower level clouds are scooting along pretty well. Upper level seems to be buring off My son was wondering if this was the start of Irene...lol Yeah shear is going to be pretty strong today, however, some weakening is expected as the trough begins to weaken as it approaches. Still though it should be pretty decent.
Mips
I know with the Hurricane potential nobody probably cares but whatever... My 86 yr old mother cares. If I was awake, I would care, too. I'm barely conscious, barely vertical & before coffee and she wants to know what this board expects from the storms the radio's morning weather reports are forecasting. Sitting here in NE Mass, western Essex County, 5 miles east of the Merrimack River, it's warm, humid, windy with sunny blue, nearly cloudless skies. The pool barely lost a degree overnight - which meant a warmer than usual end of August overnight. I'll need to batten down the hatches and secure the noodles before leaving for work this afternoon. weatherwiz
Those storms in PA moving east are going to ruin severe chances today yeah that could really ruin chances later on, unless some sun can develop behind that.

weatherwiz
This initial batch of storms moving through may strengthen somewhat as they advance east as mesoanal depicts 1500-2000 J/KG of SBCape with 500 J/KG of MLcape, 1500-2000 J/KG of MUcape and LI's of -3C under modest shear.
