free_man
we were in a mandatory evac during Bob at 12 ' asl. we did not evac however most of the neigbbors werw gone. iirc the water line in carol came to our front door as the older neighbors pointed out. as for the storm, it still looks more like a carolina scrape then just offshore...nothing has changed in my opinion since Sunday. Mr Torchey
... think you are driving down? Thankfully not, now my thoughts turn to those on the Cape, I hope it misses wide right so it spares the entire east coast, incredible body surfing ri beaches sun, mon probably will be too big. As long as this curls under us, surf sucks in windy chop, very best like Bill is offshore long rollers. Tight to the coast hurricanes tend to not be as great as the swell gets broken up. If a cat 3 is just off Hatteras then that day should be great, fishing will be off the hook too.
40/70 Benchmark
Keep the texts flowing, as I'm now invested and will be away from the comp today. Anyone considering grabbing a generator......I'm starting to get a bit edgy and there will be a run on them if the threat grows any more imminent. Damage In Tolland
LOL..it's most likely not going to miss or track east of ILM. Looks like a direct hit for them and somewhere in SNE
Ginx snewx
If big if timing and decent long duration fetch, intensity hit this weekend, coastal flooding greatly enhanced at high tide, currents are very high too, increased erosive, destructive power. CT Rain
The shift east is still very apparent. I don't see any reason why this will stop trending east.

Logan11
Just FWIW... Bob never hit any land along the EC before SNE. Oh it may have kissed Hatteras..not sure. Did a lot people leave during Bob? I don't remember.

Logan11
I don't see a sharp enough trough to slug this thing into SNE unless it crosses NC at least west of Morehead City. If it hits way out toward he the Outer Banks my bet is that it is no more than a Cape Cod scraper. The shift east is still very apparent. I don't see any reason why this will stop trending east. I wont be happy if we don't even see flooding rain from this.. how can models go from FL hit to fish in 2.5 days? Still have time though.. not worried yet.. hopefully euro holds

Not there, yet....but that is disheartening. I have always thought it's Carolinas or bust. Whose to say they are right? and are underestimating the strength of the ridge? We've seen wild swings west and east with this the last 2 days. I don't see anything right now that doesn't point to a ILM hit in NC..and then from there..who knows. Logan11
Hatteras has been eradicated so many times. That's their climo. I can't get psyched up over a Hatteras hit.....it's too 'normal'. I get off on anomalous wx. I'd love to see this thing hit someplace that almost never gets hit actually. Hopefully it at least eradicates Hatteras, first.
