Surfing should be good in a few days at any rate

You couldn't find me sticking my feet into the water off of the cape with those sharks lol

Ultimately I feel if it brushes NC we are screwed.. we need a direct hit and have it over land for a while

At our Latitude nobody should be surprised on the evolving eastward tracks. The western movement and forecast track has been N and E all along.

As Irene turns poleward the gazillion dollar question will be- Which ridge will win? The weakness is toward the East.

I standby my only call of landfalling CAT3 NC/SC border and then scrape New England.

Sunday: Tropical showers torrential downpours S and E with Gusty N winds. Maybe Chatham with 50kt gusts

ROADTRIP!

I am sending this to my boss, especially the last part about worrying, geez the national media is in a frenzy.

Top of the Today Show was pretty solid I thought. Conveyed the threat... not much panic. Didn't see anyone else.

Local media in CT still pretty much ignoring it outside of wx segments.

This looks pretty solid. I would not argue against any part of it.

At least we don't have to argue over 60F td's being muggy

Unfortunately Twitter and FB are not my friend today, damn accuweather. This year on top of a 400 person charity event outside Sat, we have the annual Pow Wow , Sat and Sun, great. $$$$ decision.

The page you did on New England 'cane setups is very educational.

Everyone should look at it..

What time does it wrap up Sunday, and how long to clear the logistical stuff (and people) out?

Do they require you to make the call? If so, good luck.

If it did take a Floyd track what type of evactions would the Eastern areas be looking at? Any? Just the Cape?

Probably none.. NE doesn't evacuate and they really dont need to.. maybe some people right along coast in flooding prone areas

Speaking from experience. I was in Hurricane Bob on the Cape. We had mandatory evacuations in our area in South Yarmouth. Our place is 3 rows of houses off the beach, right on South Shore Drive (if you know the area). Most areas south of Route 28 in Yarmouth were "recommended" evauations, but ours was mandatory. The police came to our door at 6:00am and told us to be gone by 11:00am. If this thing pans out and we have higher than normal tides this weekend (and the timing works in conjuction), you can pretty much assured that there will be evacuations this weekend.

Wow mandatory is impressive. I guess given Katrina.. officials will have to be more harsh regarding these..

Anyways we are still 5 days out, no need to talk.about this now

Did a lot people leave during Bob? I don't remember.

The impacts to Bob were limited to extreme portions of SE MA and CC and I suspect people left. If we have a track more like Gloria or 1821, where the impacts could be felt all along the South Coast, I would imagine more people would head inland.

It is a weather forum...why can't this be talked about? I know it is not set in stone, but the question can be asked...
