ski MRG
Last year was Sept 17th here, Sept 19th the year before. This year I'll go with Sept. 16th. Looking good for a perfect call. Perhaps a day early.

Logan11
This could be the earliest yet here since I first set foot on this place eight years ago. So my climate record isn't very long...before that I was in the HV where it was pretty unheard of to have a freeze before October 1st. Who be laughin' now. ski MRG
How many feet of snow pack will you have by then? 1 or 2? Whatever it is it'll be more than your eastern mass/ coastal plain location.
snowman21
How many feet of snow pack will you have by then? 1 or 2? He'll certainly have that much snow on the ground by the time I have a freeze as the average frost date is still over a month away and the average first freeze isn't until the first or second week of November. HoarfrostHubb
Your location is fun to watch. I'm going to guess Oct 20 for my yard... I will check with the local wunderground that seems to match me pretty well. I've had frost already, but an actual freeze is possible this week... If I miss it, it will be a while before it gets cold enough again...
Baroclinic Zone
TAN Oct 20th. Last year TAN hit 30F on Oct 10. I may not hit 32F before the 20th the way things are looking. Frost maybe Thurs night but not a freeze.

CoastalWx
I'll take the over 34. I think if you go calm, you'll hit 31 or so. If there is any wind, then it may be like 34..but this airmass could support colder temps.
Baroclinic Zone
I think the winds will be my killer. Does not look like the classic radiational type setup with a high cresting over top of us.

I think the setup is pretty good, but we'll see. It's possible it might not radiate well until late night.
weatherMA
I'll go 36/58 for my low/high on Thursday. I might be able to get down into the mid 30s again on Friday, but I think I fall short of a frost both days. Maybe some patchy frost.

This isn't a high cresting over us 12z Friday? Anyways...I think I finally make 32F one of these upcoming mornings. MAV & MET MOS have my dewpoint reaching 20F Thu afternoon. I can't wait for that. Looks modified to me. 850's are not below 0C for me on that. I think we see our coldest temps before this H passes overhead. Tonight and tomorrow night on CAA as opposed radiational cooling as the H crests overhead on Friday. I agree that Thurs afternoon will feel awesome out there. Anything to get rid of that bug. Actually, when high pressure moves overhead...you are already having some waa aloft moving in. You want some weak waa aloft, because that will help keep the inversion in tact which means the atmosphere has a chance to decouple. Euro has 0C temps right along the ern mass coast, so that's pretty good. It's just going to depend if that atmosphere can decouple well enough because if it can, imo, the setup is there for KTAN to tank. Otherwise, it's like 33 or so. Edit that. 34F for a low. http://www.erh.noaa.gov/box/obs/TANobs.html 1st frost advisory up for me. BOX has me for 32f. I may be able to pull of a freeze tonight since I have found the temps usually end up a degree or 2 below t where they forecast in nights like this.
