Exactly.

Severe watch doesn't mean that your block will be affected.

Event has produced severe weather already and continues to for some.

Far from a bust.

I dont care about lightning and winds and all that stuff, all I want to see is a lot of prolonged heavy rain.

The past 7 days have had a highly unusual amount of severe weather, one of the most active periods I have ever seen. This reminds me of a week we had in July 2006.I challenge anyone to name a more active period. This does not mean that everyone will get every single thunderstorm cell 100% of the time. This past week has been historic,no other way to put it.If you want thunderstorms on a daily basis, move to Borneo.

I guess it depends on perspective also. This setup was touted by the SPC/NWS and yet what unfolded was nothing exceptional, although yes some severe weather has occurred. But the last two events, which were not as highly advertised by the SPC/NWS, produced just as much if not more widespread and significant svr wx for our region.

Pouring again here in Long Beach and looks to for some time. Hopefully we don't wind up with yet another bout of flash flooding just a week removed from our last epic rain event, and combined with more rain we had this week. The ground here is still soaked and likely can't take much more.

Flash Flood Warning lots of extremely heavy rain and lightning now.

Approaching an inch and a half of rain with lots more to come! This is my kind of storm :)

Just hoping it doesn't get to the point where water starts entering basements and garages again. I know a number of people who got crushed from last Sunday's rain and it wouldn't take much for a do-over. And forget it if Irene comes up here and combines the rain with a lot more wind. We're probably over a foot of rain stretching back to the deluge a week ago. My street's already starting to flood again.

Agree Andrew, this past week, starting w/ last Sunday's 4"+ deluge, has been arguably the most active for T-storms I can recall.

Thanks Tom.Later on tonight,we will get more thunderstorms with the cold front.I dont remember your area of Monmouth ever getting hit like it has been this whole summer. You must have well over 20 inches for this summer
