earthlight
If the northward convection likely associated with the LLJ moves northward before the MCS gets here...it could put the squabash on the big wind threat. These storms could produce some severe criteria winds of their own, though.

earthlight
This has been a very odd convective event to watch unfold...very atypical with the south to north moving convection and multiple areas/rounds of severe convection

earthlight
Just a ton of convection now over Southeast PA and extending towards W NJ. The LLJ is definitely ramping up and the shortwave is having it's say with the unstable air. The most unstable area is actually Northern NJ right now..with 2500 joules of surface based cape. They've been baking in the sun since 1pm.
earthlight
Have to wonder if the northward moving convection doesn't become part of a more organized MCS into the early evening. We will see. An odd development over the last hour. Forecasting and meteorology is such a humbling job on a daily basis..

earthlight
Looks like a big time event about to occur. An awfully strange evolution so far...but as I alluded to eariler, this stuff advecting northward has implications with the strengthening low level jet...and could be part of a bigger development.
