Only need about and inch to break the all time monthly record now.

Looks like that will be reached if whats out west comes through.

Considering the heavy rainfall involved, there was a lot of severe weather in the region today. The

Storm Prediction Center did not even have our area in a "See Text", let alone a Slight Risk. Only

during the evening outlook did they insert a See Text. The same goes for down near Baltimore

and Washington where hail to the size of golf balls occurred. I must say that the folks at the SPC

never seem to get our region correct when looking into severe events. All of the random sea

breeze fronts and other phenomena around here always vex their forecasting for this region.

Def an awesome game rib. We left after the rain delay. Went back to our tailgate and drank beers. When that storm was coming, prob the most exciting presentation I've seen since June 24th of last year. Once I get home tomorrow I'll post more pix tomorrow.

Interesting how SE PA and Southern NJ for the most part over the past few years have been ground zero for interesting weather.

I can not tell you and all of these people here, how massively EPIC this lightning was here. I was like whoa, like seriously never did i ever expect to see lightning like this ever. After reading others with EPIC lightning I finally got mine. I am greatfull for it.

The first round (~7:30ish) missed West Chester just to our south. Had a nice lightning show from our south-facing front porch. Figured it was all over, as sunset was upon us. But later that night around 11:00pm, I noticed the sky lighting up again to the west. Sure enough, storms were firing up again. Thus proceeded one of those once-a-year series of storms where the thunder was completely non-stop for over 2-3 hours. Kids (teenagers) could not get to sleep and had to leave the light on, and the normally unflappable dog was panting and up on the bed. Finally around 2am I guess it died down because I finally fell asleep and was not woken up again by a close strike.

Glad to hear so many were in on the action!

our power went out around 7:30 or so...that storm was pretty intense - very dark, and lots of lightning strikes close by...then another storm rolled through sometime in the early morning - no idea what time as the power was out and i didn't feel like getting my watch...but the overnight storm seemed to go on a long time...house-shaking thunder and what seemed like continuous lightning for a prolonged period...our girls were up for what seemed like a couple of hours...power back on when we woke, thankfully...on my third cup of coffee now...

edited to add: on the bright side, power outage made me miss the birds game

The overnight storms missed to my south, looks like they stayed south of the PA Turnpike. I had to go to http://weather.rap.ucar.edu/radar/

to the archive page to see what I missed. They look impressive and were slow moving.
