62/60 here so not exactly real dry, but the storms cooled us off so nicely that it feels great in the house. I said earlier it was kinda sticky and 77.

This front is washing out so Joe and the others in southern and eastern locations may not have to "endure" any sub 65 dew points until Sunday night.

I wish some of that dry air could be sent east... still have some pretty sticky air here: 71/66

It's a good thing school isn't in session in CT or they might have to cancel school for inclement weather.

We need this rain to stop now. I'm sick of cutting grass. :devilsmiley: Over 5 inches here in the last week. Sunday might bring more deluges and if the tropical stuff ever gets drawn up here around next weekend we'll be floating away.

59/58 here now with a nippy breeze. I have to close some windows.

59/57, 2.67" of rain today to add to the already above normal totals for the month. Looks comfortable for the forseeable future with no high heat in the forecast. Summer is slipping away.

Yup, similar totals here Rick. Not exactly a hot dry month, decidedly wet and cool here.

Wet and a bit above normal is more like it.

00z EC op & ens are still torchless with troughing/suppressed heights for us. The fantasy d10 op brings up tropical remnants ahead of a digging trough similar to the 00z GFS.

I htink you mow today and tomorrow morning before the next round. I'll be doing the same and stacking wood.

Much less rain here this summer than for other parts of GC. In this neck of the woods, we've managed to avoid most until this past week (only 3.86" on the month).

Just strolled down to the beaver pond out back. Hadn't been there all summer--man has the trail become overgrown! Lots of reds and yellows among the swamp maples--clearly highly distressed. Something died somewhere in the woods along the path--smelled to high heaven.

Meanwhile, the beavers have been doing a bang-up job with their damming this year. They must have blocked a main outflow stream (the pond empties into a stream which ultimately winds up in the Deerfield River). In spite of the dry summer, the pond has expanded greatly. In fact an earthen bridge had been there to allow fordage over one one the exit streams. The water now runs over that bridge (a rise of over 2').

I hope the dams hold. Legend has it that one gave way about ten years ago washing out the road at the bottom of the hill. I can only image what a rush of water that would be.

Looks like a scorcher today--forecasted high of 'lower 80's' in the zfp. Hopefully I can avoid that. I don't want a third day this month of crossing that un-Godly barrier.

I know, if we hit 80 again this month it will surely go down as one of the hottest months on record. Just an all out August Assault. Until then I'll just try to enjoy another morning in the low 50's.

I've only just begun. I'll have 3x that by the time the day is done.

Good lord! Why not just get a cocaine habit instead? Probably cheaper and better for you.lol I have two mugs of fresh ground double roasted French roast. Organic of course. I no longer drink any caffeine past noon.

You should avoid the caffeine at your age and with a lil snowboarder. I just have 1 cup of Joe per day plus a diet coke or 2...

Kinda humid. 58 for the low...
