Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk Such a small strip in Indiana.. But I vouch to say that it's been pretty dry at my house.. Someone in Zionsville told me they haven't seen a soaking rain since May. Im north of Indy and have mangaged a few good soaking rains this summer. My lawn looks alot better now than it did this time last month. Still alot of my plants have died due to lack of rain.

Tim from Springfield (IL)
Springfield IL (SPI): 7.42" (-2.49") And of that summer total, 6.31" of it came in June--much of it from storms the week of June 12-18 (including the Jacksonville flash flooding 30 miles west of here). Then next to nothing in July and so far in August, at least at the Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport: 1.08" in July and so far only 0.02" in August (but the total above is off one-hundredth, but who's counting--it's DRY here). Hard to believe exactly two months ago Jacksonville was undergoing their flash flooding problems and their subsequent water shortages/boil order that turned out to be a nearly one-month ordeal. southmountainwx
I live south of Ottumwa IA and have not seen it this dry since I moved here in summer 08. Since about June 15 we have 1.4" of rain. In june and early July we were missed just to our north gradually the rains moved further north in Iowa. I recent weeks Some heavy rains have fallen near the I-35 cooridor skirting to our south in MO. You can travel south, west and north from here and its green. Very tough on my landscaping/mowing business. This am more rain just to my west disgusting.

Chicago WX
For Midwest interests, the 0z Euro has 2" amounts getting into SW MO through 96 hours. Elsewhere (southern IA, IL, IN, etc), a fairly widespread area getting 0.75-1.00". Eastern 1/2's of KS and OK down into the eastern 1/3 or so of TX with a good soaking (1.25"+). Through the 26th, 1.00"+ amounts across a good chunk of MO, IL, IN, and W KY. U.P. with totals of 0.75-1.25". Have to start somewhere...

*IndyMeso*
Some improvement in the moderate and severe drought areas with the latest update. Same for Indiana. Happy to see the improvement in and around Indianapolis. A bit surprised to see the western edge of Indiana in a severe drought. I guess I was expected the state to be in a moderate or dry drought with the recent rainfall. Two counties (Sullivan and Daviess) issued burn bans last week but they have since allowed them to expire. I just hope we don't run into another September-October 2010 where half the state was under burn bans. That was just awful to deal with.

I was a bit surprised about western IN too. 0z runs from both the Euro and GFS have some healthy rains for Indiana through next Wednesday. Euro is a bit farther west with the QPF, and more "generous". HPC has 5 day totals of at least 0.75" across a good chunk of Indiana too.
