tornadojay
I have 2.56 but I think my rain gauge is clogged up.. Not getting accurate rainfall rates. My guess is there's probably closer to 3 inches.
IsentropicLift
You can see two distinct areas of heavy rain developing one over central and eastern LI and the other over northern NJ and the city.

nzucker
I'm trying to make it up to the Poconos tonight along I-87 and Route 17, do you guys think this is realistic? Rain started to come down in buckets a minute ago here in Southern Westchester, briefly backed off, but radar looks to be filling in again from the SE with the coastal. nzucker
I'm sure you can make it, its just a matter of whether or not it takes you until 3 or 4AM I know they haven't had much up there, but we've seen about 3" with radar filling in, and I have a tiny car that isn't so great on flooded roads. I have to decide if I can make the 140-mile trip safely tonight, or wait it out until later tomorrow when we experience a break from the torrential rainfalls. There looks to be an area of 35-40dbz echoes along Route 17 heading towards Middletown, so that is not so wonderful. Do people think the band currently oriented from NYC to Middletown is going to lift towards the north, or start to train over our area as the coastal fills in? bmc10
Looks like the more widespread rains are ending as the southern edge approaches. More hit and miss type stuff through the overnight hours, which I expect to benefit areas from NYC on east.
