Dsnowx53
3.09 inches of rain, 2.7 inches of that in one hour! Last night from around 3-5am or so was arguably the heaviest, sustained period of rain I've ever seen. And so much CG! What a storm. My street was a river for a while. bluewave
Those driveways sloping down are always an epic fail. Why in the Sam hell were those ever engineered. Too many houses here in Long Beach have them. Many peoples cars parked in them were ruined by the coastal flooding during the 12/11/92 noreaster . NorEaster27
7 inches of rain and not even a flash flood warning, NYC can really handel excessive rainfall with little real problems.

Cfa
This is unreal. It's basically a 13 hour downpour at the moment. I wish there was more wind to give it that Hurricane feel though lol. I know my neighborhood has to be flooded, the drainage in some areas is nonexistent, all I can see is ponding on the street so far but I haven't left the house yet, at least the trees and grass greened up a bit. I know Rosedale has to be extremely flooded, it floods fairly easily and all the time. Those Long Beach shots look like a small tsunami passed through. A house across the street from me has one of those sloped driveways and has 2-3 feet of water in it. The roads here near the middle of town aren't so bad now since we're at a moderate rain for the time being, but basements all over town are wrecked. Island Park really got crushed too, and they drain water much slower than we do.

A-L-E-X
Yeah, yeah, I was wrong. Big time wrong. The T-storms that went off here at 4:30AM or so sounded like nuclear bombs going off, and the rain's been crazy and nonstop since. The West End must be completely swamped-it always is in events like these. Already probably half a foot of rain here. My front yard is completely under water. Approaching 8" of rain here, I heard parts of Nassau County are already over 10"!
