Got raked for the 2nd time today in northern DE around 6 or so. Was sitting at the dinner table with the family when a white flash and instantaneous crash of thunder hits. I thought it was definitely a strike close by....walk to the front door and there are 4-6' splinters of an exploded tree in my front yard and driveway. The lightening split an 80' tree in half and the top 40' was impaled in 2 pieces next to my driveway. Neighbors eventually came over and we got it down and cut up. The kids thought it was the greatest thing ever. Literally hit 25' from the corner of my house. Never been that close to one and never lost power either.

from a 6abc.com viewer..hard to confirm any rotation with this.

Folks: This is either an EF-4 or a downdraft/downburst. Since we don't get tornadoes that large, and since this was in a highly populated

area with no better pictures than we've already seen, and since NWS had 20 spotters in the area that saw no tornado, we need better

evidence than this stuff. Just called NWS and they're not even planning to send anyone to inspect the damage.

Both photos really look like downbursts...looks very similar to the one that went through Lansdale a week and a half back.
