CAT5ANDREW
The most intense rainstorm I have ever experienced between 6AM-640AM that morning. My basement plumbing looked like Old Faithful. My Communinity drivwat had nearly 2 feet of water. The Cooper Ave underpass in Glendale Queens, about 1.5 miles from me had water a foot from the ceiling. Many people escaped basement apartments so they would not drown.Yellowstone Blvd in Forest Hills was under feet of water, the LIE by Lefrak City had water pouring over the walls onto the service road.Just an incredible amount of rain in a short period.Worst flash flooding I have ever seen. As bad as the rain was,the Tornado that hit brooklyn really did some major hose damage in Bay Ridge leaving some families homeless and the homes condemmed. In my area, it was about two miles from my apt.
