Hoosier
Hey LAF guys, no mention of the fact that you're in the bullseye of a slight risk today? 30% on wind. It could get interesting later this afternoon for you. I'd be very excited if it were March or April. I guess some amount of storm fatigue has set in. trapperman
I'd be very excited if it were March or April. I guess some amount of storm fatigue has set in. nice to hear someone else say that. I mean, I am as fascinated by weather as anyone else, but if there wasn't another storm for the rest of the year up here I would be fine. Talk to the 6 trees in my yard that have bit the dust since May. We haven't had the tornado year up here that we had last summer but it's been just as active. Not to mention it is waterworld here. Losing crops left and right to flooding, there is water where I have never seen it before.
baroclinic_instability
So was any damage found in the survey today? Not yet, WCM was out all day yesterday but I haven't heard anything yet.
baroclinic_instability
Ok, since we are getting into a new flow regime with the possibility of a few more organized events that we can track, I am going to start a new thread for day 3+. Northern Plains look interesting.
TheWeatherPimp
I'd be very excited if it were March or April. I guess some amount of storm fatigue has set in. Storm fatigue? I didn't know that was possible haha.
Hoosier
Storm fatigue? I didn't know that was possible haha. 30% wind doesn't bring the same amount of excitement after we've had it about 50 times. I'll probably get more into it again in fall since the window will be closing.

PSUBlizzicane2007
Storm came through earlier with some ridiculous winds.... Possibly 70-80 mph. It wasn't a big burst either, it was over an extended period. Had roof damage on part of the house with a bunch of shingles off ( including on that managed to get punctured by a small plant), a tree down in the middle of the street, a neighbor's garage door is buckled, and a neighbor's front porch screen is trashed. Crazy.

SEMIweather
This was one of the better storms of the summer. Nice shelf cloud, 30mph wind gusts, and most importantly a ton of CTG lightning strikes. Also it has been going on for a while...20 minutes so far and will probably last about 5 more. Chicago WX
Pretty decent hit for Tippecanoe County according to the LSRs. Lots of hail reports, mostly 0.50-0.75"...but one 1.00" and one 1.75". This is true. Multiple injuries. Many people are saying that the storm was still a little ways away and a huge gust of wind came. People started running but the stage toppled before most could get away. So sad and very scary.
