hr 120 has a 996 low over nw illinois. mod to hvy precip over all over wisconsin and eastern iowa and se minnesota. 850s are from south bend, in to central illinois to the boot of missouri. frz line is fon da luc to se tip of minnesota then follows the iowa/illinois border south

If I remember correctly the 12z euro had the low at 1003mb in eastern IA.

If the GEM and Euro northern solutions work out there could be a band of icing setting up somewhere. Areas with deep snow cover will be hard pressed to get above freezing, so if a warm wedge off the surface gets shoved in here freezing rain becomes an issue. I don't think the LL WAA will be intense enough to overcome the shallow arctic air already in place combined with deep snow cover.
