Well it all depends on how far S the energy digs before it explodes a low. Euro starts in 30 mins or so and tombo mentioned he may be here to do the play by play as it comes out.

Wonder what causes the wave to dig more? Is that just model physics being different or is there some upstream system/pattern taking place that causes it to dig so much more on the GFS?

Hmm, Detroit did pretty good this run.

The low occluded before the precipitaiton got there (and a CCB is coming through).

Chicago initially starts off too warm.

Yup looks like atleast an inch of qpf along and south of M59-I96. The low doesnt seem to be occluding? GFS got rid of a transfer and I dont think i see a transfer on the ggem. I could be wrong

Note the 850mb temp evolution on prinsburg_wx's map.

It occluded this run. That probably also explains why it's mvoing due east instead of NE.

I was wondering why after moving NE it moves east. Still learning. Is there a transfer on the GGEM? The stronger the low the less likely there will be a transfer?
