jm1220
Wow, unbelievable stuff. Amazing what a few well placed seabreeze fronts as well as lift from a front can do. Nothing at all here in Midtown, silent as anything. Trains though are so backed up that it will be a nightmare getting back to Long Beach most likely (although they are a few miles away from this storm-I'd be so pissed although I'm glad I'm avoiding the property and car damage they're getting in Mineola/Garden City etc). Incredible stuff for this area-this is usually Colorado/Wyoming weather.
jm1220
Also radar est's of 5-6 inches of rain, although hail might be exaggerating this a bit. There's gonna be a ton of hail and flood damage reports coming from central Nassau soon.
SBUWX23
We need to see pictures folks. Post pictures of the hail and damage if you can. I am sure Meteorologists want to see them as this is one impressive beast
tmagan
This storm earlier had a VIL of 127 kg/m2, extremely rare for this area. So much for sea-breeze fronts not providing the impetus for these type of storms.

Cyg
I just got back from a bike ride; I could clearly see that storm out in LI from here. Nice looking storm from afar with a bit of an anvil going on...I'd hate to be under it though.

jm1220
did my best from work...i hear parking lots in garden city under water...cant leave work obviously to see... I might try to drive up toward there when I get back from work. Trains out there are all suspended now, and a number of roads might be closed-but this might be a once per decade kind of storm. Hail like this NEVER happens here.
tmagan
A bit off topic, but whoever loses the Islanders vote tonight will blame this storm.
