Epic lightning, pea to dime sized hail, and rain so hard I contemplated pulling over. Thunderdude Posted August 19, 2011 Share Posted August 19, 2011 This was amazing. First I was coming from East Islip and leaving while the storm began. The crazy part I drove out of the storm but when reached home it began in earnest. The thunder and lightning seemed more intense few miles further east. I think the worse missed me by few miles to my northeast while I didn't get into the hail or anything. Very heavy downpours and lightning t knocked the power out for a second.
