Without a doubt, this is the BEST Nocturnal thunderstorm complex since 1995.3.5 inches and it just keeps adding up.I am going to have 4 inches by sunrise at this rate. famartin
KDIX is underestimating precip in my neck of the woods. It says only a half inch here, but the Davis is reporting almost an inch and a half (won't empty the 4" til tonight but visual glance would appear to confirm the Davis number). KDIX also says only about an inch at the airport but the ASOS says over 2" already.
SACRUS
For those not thrilled with a half a foot of rain and endless days of clouds in the summer and hoping for a return of warmer, drier weather, the GFS and Euro are warmer later this week and especially into next week (8/22) and prhaps beyond into the end of aug. Lets hope the trend continues and we can also dry out again. Unfortunately both still have multiple chances for storms/rain throughout the week into next weekend. The last week or so has finaly given some relief to my brown lawn.

I feel like Im the only one who enjoys all extremes lol-- I remember rooting for triple digit heat in July and now Im rooting for double digit rainfall in August. It would be nice to have a hot end to summer and Labor Day though.... it's the last weekend of summer for us basically

Cfa
Great news, I hope it does end on a warm note and stays that way. More than a month of summer left. If today wasn't record breaking I'd resent this June 2009-ness going on.

He would complain its to cold in Death Valley. I was driving through the Kew gardens interchange earlier this morning and the flooding was as bad as I have ever seen it there with about 2 feet of standing water.Usually it is more of a nusiance type of flood which just slows traffic to a crawl.
