Sundog
I think their record is something like 60 from 1980? Anyway, it hit 91 here yesterday, so we are going for our second heat wave of the year tomorrow. Anyone know if NYC made the 80.0 average for July? I don't like our heatwave criteria. 90 is a joke. It should be higher than that. 90 is only 3 or 4 degrees above our normal high.

I agree and think if the daily avg greater than +?? should qualify as hot. Most places have been exceeding the low 90s and reaching the mid 90s this past weekend and likely today which have yielded +5 to +10 which is hot. SACRUS
Drier pattern slowly reversing with recent storms since Jul 24 and anticated storms this week. Also guidance hinting at potential strung out front this coming weekend on recent runs. Focus into New England but could bring first soggy weekend in a while. Longer range looks dry again so perhaps this is a temporary. Recent rains since Jul 24th: NYC: 1.57 EWR: 1.

SACRUS
I don't. I'd love a cool cloudy rainy day Plenty of time for those in the fall. It's probably just as hard for you to understand how I could want sunny and hot days all summer as it is for me to figure how you could want cool, cloudy and rainy days in the summer. But to each his own. I have some yard work scheduled for Wed so I am selfishly hoping its wrong but doubt they'll be able to do much on wed by the way it looks. Might s well rain on wed rather than the weekend which could be stormy too.

Not a BS 30 minute heavy shower. We need a 12+ hour soaking.

Stormlover74
Well I love snow but I wouldn't want it everyday. I loved when it hit 70 this past February and we got an early taste of spring. So anything that will allow me to walk to work without breaking into a full on slop sweat and can give my AC's a break, even for one day, is fine by me. Plenty of time for those in the fall. Isotherm
and temps in the low 60's: I agree with Tony, please don't let this verify. Keep that crap for the fall. My summer ends in about 3 weeks so I'd like no wasted days.

I don't care if we need a supernova to keep that from verifying. People who like that weather should be living up near the North Pole. That's not what summer is supposed to be like lol.
