gkrangers
The dewpoint can never be higher than the actual air temp. Probably meant 78/70 and mistyped.
Isotherm
Very warm nights lately. 75 and 74 respectively the past 2 nights here. Should be a hot one today.
winterwarlock
.22 of rain for the weekend, pretty paltry considering the hype of heavy rainfall...will the next 3 days be similar. And a 90 yesterday and well on our way today...could heatwave #7 be confirmed on Tuesday?

And a 90 yesterday and well on our way today...could heatwave #7 be confirmed on Tuesday? Tomorrow and Wed may have issues with clouds and storms, but maybe we'll get lucky like this past weekend. Euro still shows ridge building in with more heat on/around the 16th. GFS less enthused but shows warmer pattern returning by later next week as well. Before then from about Thursday (8/11) to next Tuesday (8/16) near normal perhaps bias below normal overall especialliy into New England.

Stormlover74
It's been the story since spring, those who have been getting the storms and heavy rain keep on getting them and the rest of us keep missing the bulk of the action. The models have tended to overdo the QPF as well (though some locations did pick up the .75-1.5"). .22 of rain for the weekend, pretty paltry considering the hype of heavy rainfall...will the next 3 days be similar. Ahhhh, bliss. idk about bliss, personally i have been enjoying walking around in shorts and sandals...not wearing a coat out to the bars, the beach, swimming, outdoor sports, driving with the windows open, daylight, flowers, leaves...i yearn for global warming where it is warm until november and then snowy and cold december - feb, then warm march again... To each to his own. In other news, nasty little cell coming down the hudson valley and should clip SW CT and head into Gotham or just east. Morning sounding says they should hold together. Fantom X
So Jim cosek on 1010 WINS just said that this could be the last 90 degree day of the summer. Thats a pretty bold statement for August 8th .
Stormlover74
Yeah that's like saying after a snowstorm on Feb 8th that we're done for the winter. Considering we can easily hit 90 well into September it's definitely premature. With that being said I hope he's right! :-) So Jim cosek on 1010 WINS just said that this could be the last 90 degree day of the summer. Thats a pretty bold statement for August 8th . I dont think NYC hit 90 today (yet) so he could be wrong in that regard. Otherwise its a possibility we get back into the heat later next week into the last 10 days of the month.
