70% did not help here, not enough to totally wet the deck. Really glad I have rain barrels which will get emptied today.

Sigh -it didn't here either. A couple of storms were close and last night looked like a really good one was just a county away and closing in. Obviously it fizzled very quickly. Nothing here but a barely damp deck as well. Total bust yet again - this is ridiculous lol

I second your thought on the temps!

Managed 0.66" at the house from the frontal passage overnight and roughly an inch for the county (Sylva picked up 1.57").

Now it is beginning to feel great outside with temps only around 80 at the moment. Looking forward to lows in the mid - upper 50's.

just noticed that as well. mby is on the edge and the way rain has managed to avoid mby all summer i have no reason to see that change lol

at least its really nice out - temp is 82 and very low humidity

82 and low humidity already ? Has the front already passed through ? I was thinking the front was still north of GA.

FFC really confuses me sometimes. This is what they said this afternoon.

GUIDANCE PROGGING MUCH LOWER DEWPOINTS FILTERING IN...ALREADY

SEEING SOME MID-60S DEWPOINTS IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA

Yet dp's in Atlanta are already near 60. So I guess the further north you go the higher the dp is ? There's even mid 60's dp well into central ga, so i'm not sure what point they're trying to make by saying mid 60s dp's are entering NW GA.

Here in Savannah, we received still another cooling and much appreciated heavy tstorm. Today's was earlier than recent ones....~ 2:30-3:30 PM. Nearby CTG lighning was intense. The most impressive thing was the heavy rainfall rates for part of this period. I very roughly estimate 0.75" rainfall. This is about the 6th-7th day of tstorms in the last 8-10 days.

I know the reason for all of the good rains here. I had been threatening to break out the sprinklers after a rather lengthy period of little rain. Our wet streak started the next day.

Edit: added another 0.25" or so from a 2nd quick, but heavy tstorm at 4:45 PM.

Good rains falling over Union County right now with maybe 50 mph gust and small pea size hail, temps down to 71 degrees from 82 in matter of minutes

Good many trees down and power outages all over being reported...

Ended up with .50 up here in Jonesville. Had 1 strong wind gust and a good bit of lightning. Was expecting much worse but thnkfully basically only another good rain.

I should have known when the NWS kept POPs at 60%+ and issued a severe t-storm watch that we wouldn't get anything but mostly cloudy and humid. You can always tell in the morning based on the look of the sky and the radar patterns. This day had the look of no rain.

At least you're in a watch box and got a pretty decent cell 25 miles away from you to watch :) We don't even have any clouds now this side of Raleigh.

Several nice discrete cells have popped up just east of the mountains over the past hour. The one near Winston with a tornado warning, another cell on I-40 between Morganton and Hickory which I think could be another canidate for a instant spin-up...then another cluster in Alexander County.

LOL WFMY Greensboro is catching hell for cutting off the PGA Championship. To make matters worse the Sunday weather lady is totally clueless and talking constantly. She actually just said you might want to put a book over your neck because that is the most vulnerable part of your body. She then showed the storm attributes on the radar and it showed Tornado 0.0. They have now put the golf back on in a window without sound.

Interesting. At 7:05 WFMY says no spotter reports of anything.
