From Henry Margusity:

A "Hype Watch" has been issued from 5pm Thursday through 2pm Friday. A Hype Watch means model conditions and trends are favorable for Hype Warnings within 5 mins of any model run. The Hype Watch covers an area east of a line from BOS to NYC to DCA to RDU and ORF. People living in the Hype Watch should be alert for changing Hype Conditions.

LMAO!!

Both American models were garbage for us tonight regarding the 21st. My confidence which was at about 60% is loweringing with each passing model run. I'd say right now I am at about a 30% confidence level for the 21st storm. I wanted to give Roger a chance, but no model is showing any major threat for the 21st. Even with the EC storm potentially being OTS, the models are still destroying our storm as it moves east. It pretty much shears out as it reaches Ohio. looks good for maybe an inch lol

The models will flip flop around on this for a few days. I'm still in the camp "something" will happen.

The 06z gfs brought it back and brought it back with a little more juice.

Well we have a decent storm coming through on the 21st it looks like. Euro is spitting out around 4" while the gfs prints out nearly 10", so I guess the consensus right now would be anywhere from 3-10" lol. Then a potential threat for Christmas Eve/Christmas. I'll just throw this out there.

From Accuweather.com:Northeast and Great Lakes (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI, NY, PA, NJ, MD, DE, VA, WV, KY, OH, IN, MI)

Cold weather will continue across the region next week. Snow will develop Christmas Eve across parts of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. By Christmas Day, the snow will hit southern Pennsylvania, West Virginia..., Maryland, Virginia and Delaware.

The snow will affect I-80/90, I-70, I-71, I-75, I-69 and I-77 in Indiana and Ohio. I-94 in Michigan may also be affected by the snow.

In West Virginia, I-79 and I-77 may become icy and hazardous as snow and ice hit after dark Christmas Eve.

In Pennsylvania, snow will make it north to the PA Turnpike Christmas Day. In Maryland and Virginia, I-81 and I-95 will be hit by the snow.

Airports such as Detroit and Cincinnati may have delays due to snow and ice Christmas Eve.

I'd rather have 6-10 lol. I guess I dont get too excited about 3" snowfalls. IMO 3" is just a waste of the cold air. Now if we have a pre-existing snowpack then 3" is fine, but when I can still see my grass, I'd like to get more.

How much do you have? We have about 2.5 with the fluff we got today.

Ice storm. . . . again.

Ugh! What a heart breaking storm Dec2004 was for this area. Western OH received almost 2' of snow while we got 5" or 6" and almost an inch of ice. Almost every one lost power here in Newark. On the other hand it was probably one of the most beautiful storms I've ever seen. Amazing.

I recall we had about 3" on the ground that evening before the change over. All night it rained with the temps never getting out of the 20s. On the backside we picked up another 2" of snow, but by then it was too late...the ice had destroyed the town. lol The freezing rain prob did compact our initial burst of snow to almost nothing, so yea horrible storm.

I am like Steve. Imonly 25 miles from you guys, and I dont recall any snow. I remember the original forecast was for Frezzing rain turning to snow. Temps hoovered around 30 all night while the ZR just kept pouring down. Made me absolutely sick. I believe the storm hit on the 23rd. On Christmas Eve my dad was calling all over to find a generator and ended up having to drive 2hrs to Canton to get one.
