It is, actually. Temps and dewpoints, at least in central Ohio, are pretty close to each other, so it should not actually take that long for snow to start... provided it gets here.

And I do think it will.

Per the 00z ILN RAOB, the air above the surface is very dry so it will take time to saturate.

Gotta disagreewith ya on this one JB. The band of snow looks identical to what the models are showing. So I'm thinking models are correct. Just don't think it makes it past I70 and close to i70 I don't think will see more than an inch. Hope I am wrong.

We had flurries all morning, but it became steadier around 8:30.

Wow, well I'm just south of 70 on the west side and have had steady light snow for more than 3 hours now, I guess 2 hours before you guys on the north end. That's one sharp cutoff. I think I will end up with about 2" by the time things wrap up.

Left Delaware at 830 this morning with no snow and headed to Marion to work where there was some blue sky showing up. Very sharp cutoff.

Yeah, the models were right about the cutoff, but some did better than others on how far north the snow set up. NAM was a total failure as it had 0.0" for Columbus and obviously that's a bust. Though I bet the airport reports an inch or less come 5pm.

Not a flake here.

Yeah, you ended up being just a bit too far north. The amounts will probably be pretty widespread across Franklin County, from maybe an inch or less far north to close to 3 or more far south. I'm going to be around 2". Just a very picturesque light to occasional moderate snow. Have a moderate burst now. Looks like another hour or two and it's over.

Is the stuff in northern Illinois supposed to dry out as it heads southeast? I would assume so.

J, not even sure we picked up a 1/3rd of an inch here in westerville. Looks like the cutoff came right thru franklin county

Lake Erie is starting to freeze over. Looking out the window, here in Cleveland the ice has 50% covered the inner breakwater and lots of chunks outside. Current lake temperatures are running 3 weeks ahead of schedule with the temperature at Cleveland running 5 degrees below normal. This could have huge implications on the upcoming winter here. CLE was salvaged from the brunt of the main lake snows this month, and will be starting a snowfall deficit come Saturday again.

Amazing how quickly the lake freezes due to it being so shallow. I bet the western basin is mostly ice covered at this point. Ice will continue to form but at a slower pace as the temps are not going to be as cold. Light winds will help with ice formation though. This is going to really cut back on LES.... just how much is the question.

I'm at 33 inches for the season so no complaints about snowfall. It would be nice for the lake to remain unfrozen later in the season like the other lakes.

This winter has been 95%+ LES for northeast Ohio. The storm downtown last Wednesday was incredible and likely won't be topped this winter. It's sort of a shame because it set a precedent of expectations with a high bar before our first regional system snow. The west shore from Lakewood west and points south towards CLE have had nothing substantial this winter yet. It could be the season of have and have nots by neighborhood in Cuyahoga County.

The lake freezing is a bit of a concern with enhancement accounting for 25% of our seasonal total. With cold air in place for the next week its only going to get more icy.

The wind and consistancy of the snow has settled to the grass here. How much would you say is left on the east side?
