That makes zero sense..Someone who knows please advise

Since shear wasn't all that great, so far it seems that they formed along the higher terrain and then perhaps got concentrated by some sort of lee trough or mesoscale phenomenon like terrain playing havoc with winds and creating a boundary for them to feed off of. It also might be that we have better venting out in western mass so once storms leave the point of initiation, they collapse. It's weird.
