psnnstater77
Are you over in the Laurel Highlands? It may be because you changed over later than us in the Pittsburgh area? I am near, not over.. I live in NE Westmoreland
Paweatherguy1
I am near, not over.. I live in NE Westmoreland Ok...then most likely you changed over a bit later, I would assume at least...I think that most of Pittsburgh is now between half and an inch of snow. BTW, I think we should agree to keep our bickering to off this thread...haha.

RitualOfTheTrout
Got up around 5:45 this morning for work and I glanced out at the street light and had to do a double take as there was light snow falling and a light accumulation on the car. I wasn't expecting to wake up to that! Sure puts me in the mood to track a storm now. Can you imagine 3-4+ inches of liquid had it been all snow? north pgh
Yeah, its so hit and miss.. Franklin Park Cam is dry, but next cam has white grass.. Look at the cams over east near Dishong Mt, and Cresson. It is very much an elevation snow as well. I have about 3/4 of an inch on the ground here. I just was over in Lawrenceville, and on my way back home there was nothing on the ground through Etna. Once I came up Mt. Royal Blvd there was more snow on the ground all the up to the top of the hill.

Paweatherguy1
Just a quick look at the GFS is showing what I think should be a pretty good Lake Effect set up for us for a 3 or 4 day period early next week. Big Low up in Canada just sitting there for several days giving us a flow off the lake. Could be interesting!
blackngoldrules
I can't copy and paste it from my phone but the latest NOAA forecast is calling for 1 to 2 inches today. Sent from my T-Mobile G1 using Tapatalk Looks like a fairly decent band, and as long as it holds together, it should sit over us for a couple hours....the 1 to 2 is probably total, including this morning. psnnstater77
I was looking at the cams over at Buckeye Traffic, and places like Cleveland, Canton, and Youngstwon didn't look tom impressive with snowfall where they got this band at.

The band has been south of that, I believe...Wheeling had mile and a half visibility last hour...however, the band seems to be breaking up a bit as it moves into western PA. CoraopolisWx
The forecast crest at the point is 29.6', that would be the highest since 9/18/2004. It's rare to get a crest that high, not during snowmelt or hurricane season.

north pgh
Just flurries here for now. It is cold at 29 and the wind is still pretty brisk. Still watching the weekend clipper. Still moving to our south but a shift North could put us in some minor accumulating snows.

meatwad
Some light snow this morning here in Monroeville, just another dusting. Paweatherguy1
Yeah looks like a screw zone.. Last year will probably be the lone exception for 20 years...We won't get another storm over 8 inches for like 6 years... As far as Lake Effect, I really do think that we will see a fairly good event.
